Chortopita

Traditional spinach and herbals pie with soft cheese (mizithra).

for the dough:

  • 900 gr. flour for all uses
  • 3/4 cup of brown olive oil
  • 1/4 cup of brown vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 1/2 cup of warm water


for the filling:

  • 1 kg of spinach
  • 1 bunch of chard
  • 4 leeks (the white part)
  • 1 large dried onion
  • 1/2 kg of Mizithra (Cretan cheese)
  • 3 fresh onions
  • 1/2 bunch of dill
  • 3/4 cup of olive oil tea
  • Salt Pepper
